The Frame Works has been open since June 1, 1978, and during the past 30 years we’ve focused on quality picture framing that’s affordable. When we opened, we offered frame-it-yourself as an option to make framing as inexpensive as possible. The constraints that frame-it-yourself forced on us from the beginning helped us make our custom framing very affordable as well. In order for someone to be able to walk into the shop and begin framing her picture herself, we had to have the framing molding, mats and glass in stock ready to be cut. We didn't have the option of ordering a precut cut frame (in the trade called a “chop” frame) and mats once we received an order.  While the Frame Works hasn’t offered frame-it-yourself for years (frame-it-yourself is offered at the Frame Outlet now), we still stock about 95% of the framing materials we incorporate in custom framing, making our custom framing very affordable.

The Frame Works/Frame Outlet have a staff of 10 full-time framers and designers with a combined Frame Works/Frame Outlet experience of 170 years. (See Our Staff) We have very little staff turnover. Customers will see the same staff from year to year, in many cases the same people have served the same customers for the past 15 years or more.

We maintain a 1,500-square-foot warehouse, a 3,000-square-foot shop facility (see our Back Room), we buy our materials in large quantities, we use state-of-the-art light industrial frame-making equipment. Our experienced staff, their skill levels and efficiency, our volume buying, all combine to allow us to offer our customers exceptional economies with prices that are 20% to 40% lower than our competitors, even their sale prices. We don’t want anyone to walk out of our doors thinking he could have gotten a better deal anywhere else.
